The book of Ruth is a truly unique book of the bible. Women of all ages and stages can relate to this story of great loss and love. As one reads the book of Ruth, the evidence of God’s provision in loss and desperation is everywhere! When Naomi arrives to Bethleham, she cries out in grief and bitterness to God... yet He is already preparing to provide through the harvest. We see God’s hand orchestrating a divine legacy through Naomi and Ruth. His redemption and grace is so prominent, it is overwhelming. Week 2 showed us a “glimmer of hope” (as Kelly Minter puts it) after a long 2 weeks of loss, bitterness, grief, and despair. Women in our church and in our community are going through some tough times. Illness, financial hardships, strife in the home, loved ones unsaved, pain emotionally and physically… yet, there is hope in our Kinsman Redeemer!
"I know that you can do all things;
no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
You asked, ‘Who is this that obscures my plans without knowledge?’
Surely I spoke of things I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me to know." Job 42: 2-3 (NIV)
